A New Web Presence for a New Paula Cole

Universal Music Group

Because of managerial and label transitions, PaulaCole.com had fallen into a most basic state. As Paula’s new managers and record label (Decca) were working to complete the new “Courage”album, they reached out to Matter to create a new, state-of-the-art web site for Paula.

Paula Cole was known for her early hits, including “Where Have All The Cowboys Gone?” and “I Don’t Want To Wait,” the theme song from the Dawson’s Creek television show. After releasing three albums, 1994’s Harbinger, 1996’s This Fire, and 1999’s Amen, Cole left the music business to get married, raise her daughter, and generally find the authentic life. Many years later, it was famed producer Bobby Colomby who convinced her to continue her career, culminating with her new release “Courage.”

The “Courage” album is a sophisticated affair. The singer who wondered where the cowboys had gone was now older and wiser, perhaps more mysterious and sensuous. Our web site design (with critical input and feedback from Paula) reflects these attributes and gives Paula’s new career an online venue to promote her current vision. The web site launched in early June, 2007, just prior to the release of the “Courage” CD.
